DunderDraw We have to admit to not knowing the first thing about felting... we know it is wool that has been made felty but ignorant as to how and why! The blog we feature here today made us smile, nod with learning and understanding and also laugh out very loud! The blog features humorous and well written guides explaining how DunderDraw creates her wares and also has plenty of photographs go a long way to blog a step by stept guide. Some cute felted fruit and a sad story about a razor back that was savaged by a dog... a felted razor back of course! I almost fell off my chair laughing at Adam & Eve though and loved the detail.. I wonder if we will see Cane & Able soon? The Silk worm photo diary was fascinating and a must read for anyone who wears/uses silk. There is a fantastic Green Beings section with a host of recipes for wash powders and soaps. My only complaint was I wanted to read more but could only find four pages... perhaps I missed the other links? Why not visit the site yourself! Www.myrrhmaid.webs.com See what DunderDraw is selling on wahm: http://wahm.co.uk/other_items.php?owner_id=100219 The very first blog we featured was 'Bibs 'n' Bots' blog which can be found here: BibsnBots Blog We lov How Carley manages to colour/prepare her wool, knit all the wonderful creations and also look after 4 children is anyone's guess! But she does and her customer satisfaction is evident by the re-ordering and demand for Carleys work. We particularly like how she keeps customers up to date with their orders with a photo diary progress. From photos of your wool mid dyeing process to the drying, the skein and even mid knit photos to tantalise you but keep you in the loop about where your item is. There is even a photo shoot of a home grown plum pie in progress just in case the woolliness wasn't enough, drooling over the plum pie will certainly hit the spot... mmmmm The blog is uncluttered, to the point and well written. 35 people following the blog and some superb comments that reflect the amazing work by Carley: “Wow, is that Nye's? That is gorgeous! It looks really stunning reskeined.” “Ooh I'll be like a kid in a sweetie shop! Love the top right one but they all look fabby :) “ “I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!!! Can't wait to see them!! Thank you!! “ Carley came to us in 2008 to start up her 'WAHMpire' business and after only a few weeks with our starter package asked to upgrade to a designer store as she had the feeling things were going to take off. She was right and we are very proud of Carley and all the progress she has made! Visit her wahm store here: www.bibsnbots.co.uk
Although it doesn't seem to be added to very often it has been up and running since 2007. It's maintained by wahm of two Amanda and displays not only her artwork but also some snippets of her family life. We saw colourart at a recent Baby Show in slough and were really impressed by the artwork on display. The work has a kind of innocence to it and gives a warm safe and familiar feeling... none of the harsh, aggressive images so often aimed at children nowadays. A really nice blog displaying some awesome art and I found myself 'window shopping' a few pieces so decided to have a look at the store and found she does commission work and art for 'grown ups' too!! Here are a few comments from her past customers: "Brilliant. Extremely quick in both communication and delivery. Very impressed" "So beautiful... the photo doesn't do it justice! Will buy again - thanks!!" "Absolutely Fabulous!! Thank you x" Hmm I need to hurry up and paint my lounge so I can commission an art piece me thinks!
Pop along and view colourarts blog and also have a look here for some of her art pieces on sale
